Sharon was called to the bar in 1988, and has practiced family law since then. Sharon articled and practiced in Downtown Toronto. In 1994, Sharon started practicing family law in a boutique firm in Oshawa. After six years, Sharon made the move to open her own firm and practice as a sole practitioner. In 2003, Sharon completed her Collaborative Family Law training and her practice has included collaborative family law negotiation ever since. Sharon has been a panel lawyer with the Office of the Children’s Lawyer since 1997, providing her with unique insight into high-conflict custody and access matters. In 1999, Sharon was appointed to the Family Court Community Liaison Committee where she continues to serve today. Sharon was also appointed as an Alternate Dispute Resolution lawyer for the Durham ADR Project (Child Protection). In 2011, Sharon was appointed as a Dispute Resolution Officer in the Superior Court of Justice. In this role, she conducts family case conferences. This program provides litigants in family proceedings with an early evaluation of their case by a neutral third party. Sharon works to narrow the issues in dispute and facilitate settlement. Sharon has also been a Director of Collaborative Practice Durham Region since 2013.

When Sharon’s not at the office she can be found enjoying time with her family, walking her dog, or kayaking the lake at her cottage.
